Dr ELIZABETH BAIGENT, reader in the history of geography at the University of Oxford will give a talk entitled Octavia Hill : Housing reformer and founder of the National Trust. Dr Baigent has co-edited a recent book entitled ‘Nobler imaginings and mightier struggles : Octavia Hill, Social Activism and the Remaking of British Society’.

IN ST MARY’S CREATIVE SPACE, ST MARY’S HILL, CHESTER.

Parking is available nearby at Chester Castle

The formal AGM business will be preceded by a talk from Professor Stuart Ainsworth of the University of Chester and the Channel 4 archaeological series Time Team, on the history of the area around the amphitheatre and St John’s Church.
